New Management Introduction

Hello MBRN Community,

I wanted to introduce myself; my name is Voneric Smith and I live in Tampa FL, where I was born and raised. Ive been happily married to my wife of 17 years and I am a proud father of four children. I have had the recent opportunity to acquire this forum last month and just like all of you, I completely enjoy building, riding and racing gas power bicycles.

My vision for this forum, and I hope that it will be shared by all of you, is to make it one of the top destination spots on the web for enthusiast and racers a like, so that we can all fellowship and share our motorized bicycle builds and projects within our own MBRN Community.

Please excuse the dust as the forum will be undergoing a remodeling and restructuring to modernize it as well as make the content relevant, so that it can better meet the needs of all our members. As we post new content, please feel free to join in as your input is very much appreciated and needed.

I have always had a deep love and respect for all forms of motorized racing ever since I was young up till now. In my teenage years, my uncle Steve, (Steve Leonard) was my idle when it came to car racing. He built a winning race car in the 1970s, the Dave Heinz Confederate Corvette. His car went on to race in the 24 hours of Lemans. His car and team won First in Class, making Corvette history. My uncle recently passed away, but the time I spent with him in his garage will last a life time.

My Dad also played an integral and important role in developing my love of the sport, for which Im very thankful. He would take me and the family every Friday night to watch Sprint Car Racing as well as the main dirt track events, which were held at the Golden Gate speedway here in Florida. My dad was also heavily involved in both Dirt and Speedway Kart Racing and became a highly valued expert in his field. He has owned some of the fastest karts ever raced.

One of my first direct racing experiences came from BMX Racing in the 70s and 80s along with Road Bicycle Racing. I would build my own bicycles and then take them to the track to race. I have always been competitive and as I won races, it kept me coming back for more.

Previously, I worked many years as a restaurant manager, but I have left the industry and have decided to follow one of my true passions in life, which is motorized bicycles and racing. One of my goals is to build the companion site to this forum where you will have access to our brand of custom, purpose built Racing Bicycles for sale; as well as information and links to other bicycle builders and specialized part vendors.

Motorized Bicycle Racing Network (MBRN) goals, is to help jump start this new and exciting sport, and to be your go to source for the information you need to either build your own Racing Bike i.e. Gas or Electric or find that needed part to complete your project. MBRN would also like to encourage members here to showcase their motorized projects and to share their building experience with others. Together, we can take Motorized Bicycle Racing to the next level and beyond.

We are here to bring the enthusiast and the racer together, to share ideas and to promote Motorized Bicycle Racing in a fun new way. MBRN is your number one source for knowledge about this fast and exciting new sport.

MBRN encourages members to post their projects for others to see. We believe together we can grow this new sport and help others to race and ride more safely.
